Perception
Deeper than any ocean, vaster than any sky, and grander than all the stars and planets, we walk upon the earth asleep and mostly unaware of what we are. We have been tricked into thinking this little fragment of space/time and the bodies we inhabit are all we will ever be, all we will ever know.
Emanating from a singular consciousness, we experience our lives from unique and distinct perspectives. Still, the ultimate truth is there is only one consciousness, and we are all of it, meaning we are inseparable from it and each other. We are the candle- flame, heat, and light. We go on forever in all directions at once; we always have and always will.
Unfortunately, society teaches us to think small without much imagination to keep us ignorant, confused, fearful, and narrowly focused. But we can fix this- we can open ourselves and widen our perspective, focus our gaze, and turn to the light. We can stand aside from our experience and separate ourselves from what we think we are and all we think we know. By doing this, we are doing anything but separating ourselves. We are doing quite the opposite.
What you think you are right now at this moment in time is but a fraction of the timeless entity you genuinely are. Sometimes we glimpse this essential reality in that blissful state between wakefulness and sleep. This is a place we know well but have forgotten, a place of pure, unfettered understanding and complete safety and peace. This is where the original you lives, the blissful one who dwells on a level where time matters not, lovingly watching and feeling all that happens, forever in touch with places and things beautiful beyond any conscious comprehension. Silence the mind, if only for a moment, and fall fearlessly into that abyss where the music of your cells and the very atoms of which they are composed can be heard, and you will touch this eternity, and you will finally be home.
