Over the years, more than a few people told me that I needed to share my photos and not keep them all to myself. So I decided to take a select few (hundred) and post them here. When I take a picture, I try to capture the beauty of nature and the meaning hidden within that beauty. Superficial beauty is easy to capture; trying to probe into the deeper parts of it and touch upon something special is the tricky part, and it is so rarely achieved. It has to stir the heart. It strikes me also that at this point in our lives, it is time to celebrate and share the life Wanda and I have had living in some pretty unique places. Consider this a photo journal of the last 20-plus years of that journey. It has been and continues to be a wonderful adventure.

I’ve separated the photos into the two most photogenic places I have lived, Alaska and northern Wisconsin. Different places, yet not so much. Please click on the images below to get started

Alaska

Wisconsin

“Americas Dairy Land” doesn’t quite do it justice, there is a lot more to Wisconsin than cows and cheese. I describe Wisconsin scenery as Alaska without the mountains, particularly in the great northwoods in the northern part of the state. Where we lived was appropriately named the “Lakeland” region, home to over 2400 lakes (the highest density of lakes in the world), and forests as far as the eye can see; it is an impressive wilderness.
