Choice
The world seems more divided every day, and the vitriol is toxic. One side says things are better than we thought, while the other says it is much worse. As usual, the truth is somewhere in the middle. I am just along for the ride.
With all the noise, fear-mongering, and dire predictions, it is quite easy to get caught up in the chaos and be swept away. Fear is like the virus, and it is spreading like wildfire.
But let us remember, we always have a choice.
We have a choice about how we respond to anything in life. There is the gift of choice wrapped up in every moment; we get to choose how and what we think and therefore feel. Policing our internal environment is entirely up to us. We are the sole captain of our emotional ship.
We can always choose a different direction. We can always choose to feel better. We can take responsibility for our thoughts and how we treat ourselves and those around us. We can choose what to believe and what not to, or we can choose to believe nothing at all.
What is our life if not the result of a lifetime of choices?
Most importantly, we can choose to rise above. We can choose to think beautiful thoughts and send them out to a world starving for beauty. Even in the face of madness, we can choose to see Love in it all.
